As goalie tactics changed from the standup to the butterfly style headgear changed in response. Goalies first used form fitting masks to protect against lacerations, then plastic helmets, and finally the contemporary mask to block shots from a static position closer to the ice.
Experts have recognized the emergence of an unorthodox style that is forcing a return to the helmet. This sprawling, athletic goalie needs 360 degrees of coverage with stronger carbon/aramid materials. The superior fit of a helmet ensures it will remain in place while rolling, turning, or protecting the territory around the crease and trapezoid.
This year we offer three vintage goalie helmet designs for the acrobatic goalie. Our carbon fiber and aramid materials provide improved strength and impact resistance for safety, and our dual density foam combines a comfortable fit with improved shock attenuation. More vintage designs with contemporary materials are coming soon.
Carbon/Aramid Helmets - $650
